Dear everyone in my 2020,

We didn’t come this far to only come this far. We still have more in us. We pulled our big girl panties up, we pushed ahead, and we kept putting one foot in front of the other– we kept on swimming.

It has been a doozy of a year with moments of stuckness behind the shadows of darkness. We have broken away from the shadows and found the light in front of the dark. We move into 2021 with the gratitudes and blessings we take from the challenges, trials, and tribulations of this past year. What doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger, right?

If you are reading this, you are my people and I am yours. Together we are a community and I want to thank you for your love and support on this journey. What I have learned most this year is the power of my transparency. I used to think my vulnerability was a weakness. Two thousand and twenty has taught me it is my connection– my connection to you. I learned that I no longer have to wait for the fairy tale HAPPY ending to happen to me. It was time for this queen to rescue myself and happen to the world. Two thousand and twenty has also reminded me most that in a world I can be anything, I can be kind. This year cannot go in vain. We must take what mattered to us most before the pandemic and build upon it with all the lessons we have learned in the pandemic to live our best lives and make shiFt happen!

I wish us all a new year full of hope, love, vitality, and abundance.

Happy Everything!

With love and gratitude,

Your no bull-shiFt, advice giving, shame-abolishing, Mom, Psychologist and wife,

Dr. Dara
